Custom Art for Lahaina Ahupua’a
We recently had the honor to create a piece for a storefront in Kaanapali, honoring the people and the culture of the Lahaina Ahupua’a.
It is a piece that showcases the resilience of the community of Lahaina with fiery koa resembling the fire that destroyed the historical town of Lahaina. The other designs resemble the fierce Kauaula Makani that stoked the fire along with the silhouette of the great Mauna Haleakala and its sunburst appearing behind it. We also included symbols that honor the families, ranchers, and farmers who suffered loss of life and property.
